Beat The Binion

 

Beat The Binion over the years 

 

 

Dear Friends, “Beat the Binion” is a charitable walk that supports continued efforts to save the lives of children orphaned on the streets of Nairobi, Kenya Africa. To expand our missions worldwide Rock of the Valley Church (ROTV) has partnered with the Caroline Wambui Mungai Foundation (CWMF) in Wangige, Kenya, to help make a difference in the lives of the children there and those who care for them.

For the past 15 years, we along with friends and family have pledged to continue the efforts necessary to support the orphanage. CWMF has a mission to make a lasting impact in the lives of orphans and street children by helping to bring them from“ Poverty to Destiny with Love”.

The HOME opened in 2005 and we began mission trips in 2008. With the help of generous friends like you, over 39 children (ages varying through 22 years of age) received complete care and education. The orphanage has since become a fully accredited school providing quality education to hundreds of impoverished children in the community. We sponsor 30 of  these children with meals and boarding during the school week.

On Saturday, January 13th, 2024, we will “Walk it Out” in an all-out effort to raise the funds necessary to continue our support of the orphanage and school. It is a collective effort of people from all over the United States and other countries pooling their resources together to help maintain the daily operation of the Home and School.

This year our projected goal is to repair the roof of the dormitory. The ongoing leaks are causing severe damage to the dorms and is in desperate need of repair. We desire to serve in excellence and your support will help us to do just that.

We are inviting you to come out and lend your support by participating in our 15th Annual Beat the Binion Walk Out to help us in this endeavor. We will be walking 26 miles starting from The Canoga Park Bowling Alley, through the Topanga Pass, to PCH, and then to the Santa Monica Pier. We are asking you to help by soliciting pledges to “Beat the Binion”.

To “Beat the Binion”, you would solicit pledges of $1 or more for every mile you walk, plus $1 or more over to “Beat the Binion”. All pledges are tax-deductible and are a great way for us to work together to help bring these children from “Poverty to Destiny with Love”.
