Luis served in the United States Military. He is a disabled veteran with work limitations. Luis stated “ I earned my Master’s Degree in Social Work and I have had many interviews for employment however it’s been challenging to find a job. The price of food, rent and bills are continuously going up.” Luis has been coming to Rock of The Valley’s Food Pantry Ministry off and on since 2022. He stated “I started coming once a week, after a while I began coming once a month. The food is a big help and goes a long way. I am single so it's just me therefore I share what I get with two of my elderly neighbors who are just as grateful as I am for the food. Currently I go to Rock of The Valley food pantry once a week; not only to receive but also to volunteer my services. Helping to volunteer has allowed me to see and understand the extensive work that goes into serving the community which makes me more grateful. I thank God for the food pantry, the donors, the volunteers and the organizations that help communities with food insecurities.”
